Glycine

Glycine (CAS Number: 56-40-6) is a food-grade, non-essential amino acid widely used in nutritional, supplement, and food applications. Originating from China, glycine is naturally found in protein-rich materials like gelatin and silk fibroin. It significantly impacts human metabolism and is commonly used as a dietary supplement ingredient to support health and physiological functions.

Glycine is available in a white powder form, with a fine, crystalline, free-flowing texture. It has a mildly sweet, sugar-like taste and is odourless. Glycine is highly soluble in water, allowing it to dissolve easily and perform consistently in liquid and powdered systems, but it is almost insoluble in ethanol and non-polar solvents.

Glycine is classified as a supplement ingredient with multiple health benefits. Glycine is a major component of collagen, supporting healthy joints, skin, and connective tissue. It also helps the body produce antioxidants and creatine for muscle energy. In the nervous system, glycine helps calm nerve signals, supporting better sleep and relaxation.

Glycine is widely used in the dietary supplement and wellness industry. It is commonly consumed alongside creatine to support muscle repair and recovery, and is also used in formulations to promote healthy sleep, mood balance, and overall well-being. Its antioxidant support liver health, and its collagen synthesis benefits joints, skin, and anti-aging products.

As a supplement, glycine is most commonly used by adults at dosages of approximately 3 grams per day, taken orally, for periods of up to 24 weeks, depending on individual needs and formulation.

All glycine products are Halal and BPOM (Indonesian FDA) certified, following food safety and regulatory standards. COA (Certificate of Analysis) and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) are provided, with additional Health Certificates and Heavy Metal Analysis available upon request.

Glycine is packaged in bags and should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated environment, at temperatures between 15°C and 30°C. Containers must be kept tightly sealed to protect the product from moisture and light. Proper storage helps maintain product stability, quality, and shelf life.
